Coil Spring Suspension
A coil spring stores and releases energy as the wheel moves vertically. Coil springs are common in many automotive suspension designs and can also be found in certain light and medium commercial vehicle applications.
Unlike a leaf spring, a coil spring does not normally locate the axle by itself. Additional links or control arms are therefore required to control axle or wheel movement.
